Date: Saturday, September 28
Time: 11:00 a.m. to approximately 1:45 p.m.
Venue: Servus Place — Homes by Avi Community Room (near the South entrance)

Entry fee: $10, either paid in cash on-site, or by e-transfer up to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 27th. Initial capacity is 32 players. You must pre-register to guarantee your spot. Check-in runs from 10:45-11:00 a.m. If you arrive after 11:00 and have not yet paid, you may not be paired for the first round (and if the tournament has a wait-list, your spot may be given to another player).

Participation is limited to St. Albert residents and known attendees of the Mission: Fun and Games chess club. Maximum CFC rating of 1800, however online ratings are unrestricted.

Format: Five games. Two sections. The top 6-10 players will be in one section, everyone else will be in an open section. Sections will be formed at the discretion of the organizers. ‘Touch move’ will be in effect.

Time control: The top section will be played at a 10 minutes plus 5-second increment time control. The open section will not have clocks, but a clock may be added with 5 minutes per player if, at the organizers’ discretion, the game is falling behind after 15 minutes of play.

Rounds follow one after the other. Players are guaranteed a minimum 5-minute break between games.

Prizes: Sponsored by Mission: Fun and Games, in addition to sum of entry fees less expenses.

Registration: Fill out the form below to sign up. If there is space available, registrations will be taken on-site up to 11:00 a.m. If you have to withdraw, please let us know. If you are feeling unwell, please stay home, rest, and get better – there will be other tournaments!
