Patient. Focused. Clever. Strategic. Resourceful.

These are words commonly used when talking about chess players. Chess is a game of strategy, and we play it for fun — that’s all it needs to be. But chess is also a useful tool to learn how to think.

Chess players have a reputation for thinking several moves ahead, though it’s important to remember that things don’t always go according to plan. Sometimes it’s about finding a way to get from point A to point B, and sometimes unexpected problems pop up and you need to find a solution; in fact more than anything a chess player is a problem solver!
